Cor Vitae Formators Program Closing Retreat – October 16, 2024 – Feast of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque
Margaret Mary Alacoque, the 17th-century French mystic, is known for her spirituality that was centred on the boundless love and mercy of Christ, symbolized by His heart, wounded for the salvation of humanity.
Living according to the direction of the Holy Spirit, as Margaret Mary did, means being open to the movement of God in our hearts, surrendering our plans to His will. The Holy Spirit leads us to a life of deep transformation, guiding of our own desires. Galatians 5 teaches us about the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—which reflect a life that follows the Spirit’s lead.
Our mission as Christians, inspired by this example and empowered by the Holy Spirit, is to unburden people. Like Christ, who invites us to lay down our heavy burdens and find rest in Him, we are called to be instruments of His mercy and healing in the world. We must strive to lighten the burdens others carry, be they physical, emotional, or spiritual.
Galatians 5:18-25 “Since the Spirit is our life, let us be directed by the Spirit.”
Luke 11:42-46 “you load up burdens for men that are unendurable, and not move a finger to lift them”.
Our Mission to unburden people.
